If 400bhp wasn't an essential requirement, what about the next size up and model down - some kind of A6 avant?Well, indeed - there are two sorts of men, self-confessed wankers and liars. Looking at the specs the B7 Avant is slightly bigger than the Impreza WRX Sportwagon I've got now - that's big enough for two bikes, so I'm assuming the RS4 will be too.
400bhp is an arbitrary figure, but the new car has to combine the speed of the Piglet (Cayman S) with the load-lugging capacity of the Scooby (the Impreza), as it's replacing both of them.
HSV V8 is interesting, but I suspect it would suffer from the same problems as a modified car - it'd be a bitch to insure and service.
I did look at RS6s (the twin-turbo V10 version) but I'm not convinced I need the extra space. And while I've got used to 23mpg on SUL (same for the Piglet and the Scooby), the fuel consumption on the RS6 is just a bit too excessive, even for me.

Right, Operation New Car is go. The Piglet is back from its service, and once it's had the front end given a once over with some fresh paint, it's up for sale. Requirements for the new car are:
I reckon that means M5 Touring or RS4 Avant, and at the moment I'm thinking B7 RS4 on the basis that it's smaller than the M5 but still big enough to fit bikes in the back. Also, I'd rather have a manual box rather than an SMG box. Suggestions/comments/observations welcome.
Oh, and I am aware all Audi drivers are wankers.
