So what else have cyclists done...hitting guidedogs apparently :/

Indeed. We are waging a war on the blind and their dogs. The ES are running it with glee

London cyclists? That's ok, I'm not from London originally.

A fucking guide dog ate my cookies the other day when I was letting it's owner and her friend try out a tandem, stole them out of my bag on the table it did. I'll stop running red lights when they stop stealing my oat and raisin.

That survey only had 64 participants. So that's 16 guide dogs that have been involved in a collision.
Wow, compare and contrast: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/london-cyclists-crashing-into-more-blind-people-and-their-guide-dogs-charity-warns-9692714.html (ah, beaten to it)

I can't talk too much, but I was a witness to her experience. She's fully lying. She's got a vendetta against everyone.

wonder if this will be the headline grabber for their autumn fund raising push

Is it time to start calling out bad blind people thread >>>

Just read the standard article. It's all lies. Wow.
She didn't touch the floor. Nobody tried to ride away. She didn't ring the police. Her handbag stayed on her shoulder, nothing was broken or all over the floor.
How do I get them to edit that article?

Apropos of this, a nice lady at the traffic lights outside Lambeth North station this morning gave me a reflective ankle strap with this URL on it: http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/cycleyes#.U_2b2rxdXoo
(I wasn't riding on the pavement or running over any blind or seeing people or their dogs at the time, FYI)

The range is called 'Bullets and Burgers': http://bulletsandburgers.com/
Who could've guessed that they'd have anything other than a flawless safety record? They sell burgers! Burgers is srs bzns.

I think it's a good story in terms of increased reports to Guide Dogs, and real concerns by blind and partially sighted people. I imagine pavement cycling/ RLJing is even more of a hazard if you don't have a guide dog, as it's less obvious you're more vulnerable. Obviously if the "this happened to me" bit of it is far from the truth then that's shit. But we all know some cyclists can be inconsiderate on the roads, to put it politely.

Regarding the blind people cycle terror, can anyone find a link to the results of the survey? I can't tell if the results are time bound - i.e. 1 in 4 blind people report a collision with a cyclist in the last year - or not.

It is, apparently, the number one thing to do when you go to Las Vegas, number 2 being something called "battlefield vegas", and number 3 being going to sit in a JCB: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g45963-Activities-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html
After I'd had a go on the JCBs I fear there would not be much left in Las Vegas to interest me :(

I must have missed that when I went to Vegas. I found plenty to do in the clubs, casinos, day trips and bars without operating machinery, firing guns or driving quickly

The ending to Thelma and Louise would have been so much more fun in a JCB.

Oh I just saw this.
I cannot comprehend how unbelievably stupid this is. Really how dumb do you have to be before you let a nine year old do this? There is even a video of it FFS. -

Guns don't kill people, 9 year old girls do.
Those other 'instructors' better run.
She has tasted blood.
