  • Was he your team mate ;) If he took you out that is.

  • I've got away with Brands and Mallory so far. Big moment at Cadwell being cut up by a muppet heading up the mountain but my worst off in the UK was probably at the reconfigured Anglesy in an M3 oh and a high side at Thruxton on an RG 500.

  • Cadwell is such an easy place to crash at....blind entries, hills, camber and invisible damp patches through the woodland section. Full circuit is so totally wonderful.

That said, I think I've crashed at every track in the UK I ever rode on with the exception of Lydden Hill...so it might just be me!

  • True. But giving it the noise through the goose neck is one of the greatest feelings in British Motorsport.

Ps perhaps you should try harder at Lydden

  • No, I managed to avoid him. No team mates in clubman racing. Every man or woman for themselves.

  • My worst was Mallory in 2003. Lost it coming out of Gerrards, hit the tyre wall, rolled the car two and a half times, and ended up upside down, trapped in the car with 4 broken ribs and the entire contents of the fuel tank running down the back of my neck...

I'd go with it being you :P

    Sorry was a F1 dig.

  • Perhaps we should start an "X-rays of my metal work " thread although none of mine is from car racing

  • Rule 34, please god no.

  • That was what fucked me, trashed a TVR vixen...that I modded to have mk1 cortina rear lights over the MK2. The car had special one off magnsium suspension bits, not made by me. Never been so sad/angry

  • I had to tow my friend's defender 110 home in my peugeot 206 hdi today. It actually handled the weight surprisingly well! Some kind of car win/fail.

Before anyone says anything about towing with rope; that's 14mm dynema. You could hang the landrover off that, no problem!

  • Urgh....I've had a couple of nasty ones at Mallory (and a lot of silly ones at the hairpin.) Think my fastest crash ever was at the esses (pre-chicane.) Absolutely flat out on my RS125, tipped in, touched the brakes and was straight off...a LONG hot ride over the tarmac before some ragdoll action on the grass. Fractured coccyx from hitting the rumble strip arse first, mouth and nose full of grass and earth. Nice.

  • Right, Operation New Car is go. The Piglet is back from its service, and once it's had the front end given a once over with some fresh paint, it's up for sale. Requirements for the new car are:

    1. Estate
    2. 400bhp+ as standard
    3. RWD or 4WD
    4. Not a Mercedes

I reckon that means M5 Touring or RS4 Avant, and at the moment I'm thinking B7 RS4 on the basis that it's smaller than the M5 but still big enough to fit bikes in the back. Also, I'd rather have a manual box rather than an SMG box. Suggestions/comments/observations welcome.

Oh, and I am aware all Audi drivers are wankers.

  • New new?

The new rs6 is supposed to be amazing (and the rs4 terrible..)

  • All Audi drivers are indeed wankers for choosing an Audi when they could choose something nice to drive. (Yes, even the fucking dreadful Quattro rally thing off the 80s and yes, I have driven an R8 and no, there is no reason whatsoever for choosing one over a 911. I liked the RS2 I drove about 10 years ago, but I expect I wouldn't now.)

Can you get the Alpina B5 with a manual box?

  • Jag XFr estate?

  • @danstuff Xfr-s sport brake for full on Team Sky full kit wanker....

  • New new?

No, not new new. Ideally something in the £20-25k range, second hand.

  • Start here:

  • Then season with parts of your choice:

  • Xfr-s sport brake for full on Team Sky full kit wanker....

In 3/4 years, after they've suffered from the inevitable horrific depreciation, maybe. Sadly the Rapha discount codes don't apply to the Sportbrake they've got on the website. I checked.

  • I've always been tempted by the idea of a 240GLT estate with a nice big Chevy LSx lump in it. But it doesn't meet the 'standard' requirement, and I can't be arsed with the faff of insurance on modified cars any more. Been there, done that, lost the will to live...

Surprised a lot of folk when towing my mates 90 with a Renault 5Turbo

  • "As far as I know, officer, it's stock"
