Good call on the no ROPS front. I agree, they look crap on older cars and I'm never convinced they'll help anyway given the way the cars are constructed.
Funny you should mention Cadwell - it's one of the three tracks I've crashed at (Mallory, Brands and Cadwell). Silverstone's got loads of run-off space, but that's not always any good if there's cars sideways on the track in front of you. Mind you, I was quite glad of the run-off later on in yesterday's (re-started) race:
That driver span off in qualifying, race 1 and race 2, so it didn't come as too much of a surprise!
I've got away with Brands and Mallory so far. Big moment at Cadwell being cut up by a muppet heading up the mountain but my worst off in the UK was probably at the reconfigured Anglesy in an M3 oh and a high side at Thruxton on an RG 500.
My worst was Mallory in 2003. Lost it coming out of Gerrards, hit the tyre wall, rolled the car two and a half times, and ended up upside down, trapped in the car with 4 broken ribs and the entire contents of the fuel tank running down the back of my neck...
