Tester special custom machined headset bolt thing glued in
I'd guess that, from an engineer's perspective, that's superior to the conventional alternatives...
and vanity topcap
"upsidedown" isn't "umop3pisdn"... -

umop3isdn is who I was, upsidedown represents what I've become, . You're living in the past maaaan.

Shouldn't the top cap be rotated 180 degrees?
-
• #255
Nah, less aero.

And impressive work this AM.
What was your gearing? What was the course like?
-
• #257
Cheers, 51x14. H10/22, really nice course. pretty flat with a short draggy bit on the way out. Reasonablyy fast conditions tbh, tailwind on the longer outward leg and a headwind back, but I didn't really feel it. Tops won with 19:19.
Beat quite a few people who were putting time into me last season, which is promising.

Did you ever sort out the gap between headset tube and bearing cover?
Have the same problem with my old PX Chrono.
-
• #259
Yes, he got a custom cover with a deeper skirt
-
• #260
Got one of them Moon Comets, very impressed so far.
-
• #261
Got a spare front wheel on the way as well, which is currently somewhere between Leicester and the Netherlands.

What's that for? Training/evening 10?
Never seen any Shamal decals (to answer your question elsewhere).
-
• #264
Training, windy races, evening 10s, occasional sledding. Apparently they're faster than a Zipp 808FC at zero yaw, though I have no way of testing that.

• #265
Risers next?
I wonder how far you could get with an "old but still got it" build, using Shamals and AX calipers etc?

Well, I'd put money on a round-tubed 531 frame being more aero than the PX, so there's that :-)

Probably last proper race of the season tomorrow*, plumping for a nice spinny 107'', unless I pussy out and put the 51t back on. Broken the golden rule of not changing stuff before a race and dropped the bars 10mm and saddle 5mm. We'll see how that pans out tomorrow.
*unless I get a ride on the V718 on the 13th of September, but chances are I'll be too fast (lol).

It's going to be pissing down all afternoon, we've probably both wasted our time fitting the 13T sprockets.
-
• #273
Probably, and even if it does go ahead I suspect I'll be putting the 51t on.
-
• #274
Its relatively warm though and calm( at least it is here) if wet. Put together that should mean low air density and therefore possibly some quick times.
Good luck @umop3pisdn and @mdcc_tester

Event postponed, time to get the chainwhip out, put the 13T away for a month and drop right down to 72" for the MG 10 a week Thursday.
Think I've got the tester mindset though, first thoughts as I crossed the line were all the ways I could have been faster.
