For my first wheel build I bought this. rosebikes.co.uk/article/rose-truing-stand/aid:553818
And it was a waste of money. I have since bought the minoura stand and it is significantly better. It may not be park tool level but I think it is plenty good for a couple of wheel sets a year.
What issue did you have? Just being nosey.
For the first few wheel builds on wheels with no dish a decent stand helps to make it easier to understand what is happening. Ended up making my own stand out of some stolen 15mm box section that bolts together.

Two major ones.
The upright arms were not at the same height so the hub didn't sit parallel to the floor initially, resolved this with some brute force.
The gauges for lateral trueing are M6 bolts with a rubber bit on the end, the threads had been cut at an angle, fine for rough work but no good for close Truing.
The gadget for radial trueness wasn't much help either. I ended up improvising that.
