Only difference my current build has is that I've replaced the cranks with TA Carmina cranks (which I love) and I've also replaced the bottom bracket with the SKF bottom bracket which is unbelievably smooth.

The Rohloff gear shifter only fits flats.
There's no really elegant solution to it. The Gilles Berthoud is the best out there: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gilles-berthoud-gilles-berthoud-twister-for-rohloff-hubs-silver-prod27131/ but the reviews on that page make it clear that it's only a "meh".
The Rohloff is wonderful, absolutely love it. Except for the fact that it's forced me to use flats.
I've comfortably done 140 miles in a day on the flats, but would've preferred the extra positions drops offered... but then, the extraordinary range of gears offered by the Rohloff got me up hills I might not have made. So overall that hub beats drops.

Lovely details on that.

The unpainted pannier mounting points on the rack made me smile.
