  • Fair weather rig, innit!

  • Oh wow, I hadn't seen that build before... Yes, very similar! Chunkier tubing though!

  • God no!
    Shimano or GTFO >>>>

  • So tube on the right is the first idea... Although I decided I didn't like the orange, so the tube on the left is a different orang I mixed up to match the mango Chris King headset and hubs (hubs no longer being used), you can't really see in the photo, but the orange is ever so slightly metallic. Centre tube is just naked carbon with lacquer, although the ISP is actually unidirectional instead of the 12k weave shown here.
It says Bianchi as that's just a random old masking vinyl that I had lying around. It will be the normal Talbot downtube and head tube graphics.

  • I guess you'd need an inverse shim to retrofit that?

  • Fully orange is your plan?

  • No... Will be doing something like the tube on the right, but replacing the orange with the lighter metallic orang on the left.

  • I love this detail:

Really looking forward to seeing it painted.

  • Matt's been pretty busy moving machinery around the workshop the past week, so there has been a lul.

He's also been struggling to get any specs from Shimano or Madison regarding the boss positioning for the new DA9010 direct mount caliper.... He's anded up having to do a lot of mocking up and tacking to get them in the right spot, but they should be getting brazed into position today.

  • Should be ready for Festive 500?

  • Unfortunately I'll be somewhere along the South African coast between Durban and Cape Town over Christmas.

  • On the BMC?

Also I wasn't meaning to force a timeframe on your build. I'm actually most looking forward to the paint and the sweet gram action. Might this feature at Bespoked next year?

  • Nah, no bikes this time round. Will be road trippin in a Hi-Lux with the missus and African homies!

Dunno about Bespoked... That's not up to me!

  • Ah OK I get it now. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

  • Now all the brazing is finished, Matt can finally chop out the seat tube sleeve. Looks great so far!

  • Noice!

  • What is he using to bond?

  • Dayyymmm

  • Looks shit. Get rid of it now.

  • Epic

  • ISP got bonded in yesterday.

Apparently a box of parts from ENVE was due in too,
Picking it up on saturday morning.
