It's rather rapid but sadly clutch is inadequate to make a standing start - it must be towed up to 20mph before it engages making it somewhat inadequate for everyday use.
For normal everyday usage he has a Riley with a DeHavilland Gyposy engine.
He's done well to still be alive - he's probably pushing 50 now.
