  • Lovely stuff! They both look great!

Currently amassing parts to build mine up, can't wait to get started!

  • Not the best part of it, but quite! ;)

  • nice :)

    what size is v4? @Xavonseine

  • Don't buy this rack unless you like tightening up your v-brake bolts after every use.

  • Thx: XL as is the Pompetamine (BTW I'm 6.1 and it's fine)

  • I've fitted a ton of racks like that without problems, try some washers between the brakes and rack/rack and bolts maybe?

  • More loctite?

  • ^ absolutely,

  • What is the smallest wheel size people have fitted to a Pompino?

I want to experiment with wheel sizes, having some old 20, 24 and 26 inch wheels lying around. I recently rode a friends 20 inch wheel bike and found it really fun and nippy to ride. I can see that with 20 and 24 inch wheels fitting brakes could be an issue as could pedal clip when cornering. The former I imagine could be resolved with drum brakes.

  • No disc mount :(

  • If you're after some disc p2s these might still be available http://www.lfgss.com/comments/10227205/

  • Grrrrr bought some mud guards last night for my pomp.

    They dont bloody fit.

Well the might fit but its going to be tight!

I need to spend an afternoon cutting down the braces and bolting and bending things to get them in I reckon.

is the hole underthe wishbone at the back for screwing into to mount guards?

  • is the hole underthe wishbone at the back for screwing into to mount guards?

Yeah, I had to drill a hole in my mudguards so that I could bolt them there.

EDIT: if you end up doing this it might be an idea to stick a washer in there between the bolt head and the mudguard as after a year of riding mine the hole I drilled gradually got bigger and eventually the bolt just slid through causing much annoyance on yesterdays commute as my guard started to rub on my wheel. (fixed now, with a washer)

    Yup.

    What guards are they?

  • I dont know of the top of my head.

    Look very similar to these.

    Just different branding I think.

  • These! http://road.cc/content/review/85311-rsp-race-silver-mudguards

The review even says they are a pisser.

I8 need more bolts and some p clips for attaching the front on to the forks as i have no braze ons.

  • Was this here?

  • Tasty!

Quick question - did/has anyone had problems fitting Tektro CR720s to the V4 pomp?

Seems there's a slight mismatch between the canti boss and brake arm(s) - the post is too long/arms too shallow, so there's about 1mm play up & down the post.

I tried some extra washers, but the dimensions weren't quite right and they just made the brake arm bind.

Wondered if anyone had any other suggestions before I file a bit off the end of each brake boss?

@Dtroll @andy_k The disc brake p2 forks are sold to Tias, sorry

  • Thought they might have gone, not in a hurry to switch to discs just keeping an eye out :)

  • Disc brakes are good fun. I give them two thumbs up.

  • what bars are they??
