    Multiple edits on a post
    behaviour below:

    1. I make a post
    2. I'm not happy, I edit that post. the original post turns up in the text box. expected behaviour.
    3. I'm still not happy, I edit again. the edited post turns up in the edit box. expected behaviour.
    4. I'm still not happy, I edit again. Now, the text from the original edit turns up, not the second edit.

    ie11.0.9600, win 7
    revision 6

  • Interesting.

    Let me test.

    This is revision 5.

  • Works fine.

Only ever returns the current revision (99.99999% of the time that will be the last one).

However... this bit uses AJAX, and whilst we set some headers to say "Don't cache this", it could be that IE11 is just gleefully caching that first AJAX request and keeps the older version for when you ask subsequently for the text of the post.

I will double check the headers we send.

    Edit, checked.

The headers might not be aggressive enough at telling IE to not cache that resource. I'll add the other no-cache ones to it.

    Bug listed here:
    https://github.com/microcosm-cc/microweb/issues/257

Not sure where our expires headers are... we'll check that they really are being set, and if so that CloudFlare is not removing them.

  • Strange, I did not see @hamster's mention on my following page.

  • Could you try this again, I believe I've fixed it.

  • yes, that's done it. thanks!

  • Strange, I did not see @hamster's mention on my following page.

I didn't get a mention on my following page from that post, either. is it the 's?

  • @hamster this should go on your page. And yes, it's the 's.

But for @motter , he should have got your mention, but perhaps it's not in the database? Maybe we have an edge case on multiple mentions in a comment?

    I'll look later.

  • Why is the page box at the top and bottom of threads sooo big?

  • Whatever the 'search conversation' functionality is supposed to do..
    I'm sure it isnt this..

  • Your browser has cached the old version, you haven't pressed refresh.

  • BTW Tommy, is there a reason you chose to grab @>>>>>> username? Just because you could, or to troll him?

  • Whatever the 'search conversation' functionality is supposed to do

You might imagine it "searches a conversation", and it does.

It's just that the given query took too long and timed out, and the front-end server showed a non-helpful error message.

You can usually avoid this by providing greater specificity in the query.

  • A very good reason..

I did message him offering to return it but terms are yet to be agreed.

  • A very good reason

Is that you want to blackmail someone (even as a joke) until you get your way?

    Strange thinking you have there.

  • Yeah.. I really thought he would have succumb to my demands by now.
He always striked me as someone who would be easily intimidated.

    Still two days to go.

  • Not sure if TS had wrong formatting when he entered this event?
Or if event lists are struggling with special characters in names

Do event participant lists dynamically update on username changes?

You are referring to yourself in third person. Please see a doctor.

  • speaking of which.. the voices in my head have told me to change my name back so I can really get stuck into the ISIS thread.

But I don't trust any of you not to steal his name and post comments in an attempt to frame me.

  • But I don't trust any of you not to steal his name and post comments in an attempt to frame me.

I'm somewhat surprised that no-one registered a new email to do that to @tommy

  • Oh, and I've looked at the search thing, and it's working fine.

I do see that the log files said it was going slow yesterday.

  • used the main search for the word 'track'

    got this result

    Server Error
We're sorry, there was a temporary error when we tried to process your request.

The error has been logged. Please try again later.

Also noticed that events seem only show the first 25 participants.

  • Doesn't take me to the newest unread post - look where it halted me (even before my own post later on the thread). I'm behind a strong corporate firewall, Chrome, Win 7, signed out and in Persona when I noticed it, and when it didn't help to sign out and in, I clicked a random following topic and took the screenshot).

  • That page has inline images which load after the page itself, so the place your browser jumps to won't always be accurate.
