would people recommend to go slightly bigger or smaller with pomps?
I can't test ride one as no one I know has one and I can only buy online direct.my current bike is a road bike, 51cm top tube, 120mm stem with risers.
I'm 170mm tall.So i'm looking at either the small or medium pomp, looking at getting a 100mm stem and running compact 42cm drops.
the small is 53.5cm and the medium 55.1..
they say to knock 3cm off conventional sizes?If I go the small, I will have a lot of seat post and it will be a larger drop from seat - bars, this will make it more compact/faster/twitchy?

The small is 48, med 51, lrg 54 and xl 57.

I'm 173 cm and have ridden a sm, med and lrg. The TT on the lrg was a bit high for comfort, but rode fine once in the saddle, the sm has lots of toe overlap, but is my preferred size.

With the old models it was a good idea to size up as the seat tube angle necessitated an inline seat post which knocked a cm or so off the reach.
So I don't know if the seat tube angle has changed in the latest version of the frame but fwiw I'm about your height and am happy on a medium from the previous generation.

I've just bought a small, and I'm about 5'8 or 177cm.
The small's ETT is given as 535 which is more or less the same as my road bike (537), so I'm gonna start with the same length stem (80mm) and see what it's like. I've heard that it doesn't hurt to have cross bikes a little smaller?? Don't quote me on that though, it's likely bullshit.
There'll be a lot of seatpost, though the steerer is about a mile long so you can space till you're comfortable?

Does anyone think I might die if i drilled the rear wishbone of my pompetamine to fit a rear caliper brake?
This would be in between 2 welds on the central tube. Would this compromise the strength greatly here?

Funds are low :( and id like to ride SS sometimes. Was just a thought.
Might disc at a later date But a wheelset it out of question now and the brakes and rotors on top of that.

Fair enough, I feel the pain. I've been riding beaters for over a year because of no money to do a build. Would love to have a wheelset with disc one side and freewheel the other, that way you could ride ss with disc brakes or flip it and use bolt on cog for fixed instead of the rotor.

Does anyone know if there is a drawn up large V3 Pompino in BikeCAD. I've searched for On-One (few bikes) and Pompino with no luck. Could it be under any other name? Even another size would be a start. I am planning to play around with some fork options.

Here are my 2 current pomps:
a SSCX (36x14) based on a Pompetamine with former parts of a Kona Unit SS MTB and a Radon carbon fork;
a fixed commuter (42x17) based on a Pompino v4 with a Miche flip flop wheel and a marvelous White Industries freewheel (42x16). Now with Kojaks.
Pomps rule!

I've got a Cotic with steel forks and Shimano CX disc brakes. No flex noticed here although the braking is not as powerful as I'd like.
The Cotic has a Thru axle but I thought this was for other reasons. They used to have the disc tabs on the drive side of the fork on the front not rear of the blade. They then moved to a Thru axle. I thought this was related to the braking forces having the potential to force the wheel out of the dropouts.
