  • Any up-t0-date budget phone tips? Smashed my Nexus 4 (and my elbow) falling off.

4G Moto G for £149 seems reasonable, I know quite a few people with the 3G version who are happy.

The features of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact appeal (battery life, smaller screen, waterproof) appeal but the price and glass front and back don't...

  • New phones are a few months away in the pre-Christmas launch season.

So you've got a pretty good selection of existing phones that are being reduced in price or having the price frozen in the next month or two.

The Moto G (3G) remains a damn fine phone, but once you taste 4G goodness it's hard to not want it (especially as Three UK make it the same price as 3G). The Moto G 4G is probably the best value smart phone right now. Yes it's not as fast as the Nexus 5, but at half the price it's incredible bang for buck.

    I'd shoot for the Moto G 4G.

  • Was just coming here to ask a Moto G V Nexus question so this is very handy! Would you take the Moto G (3g) over a Nexus 4 if prices were similar?

  • Thanks. Moto 4G also fits the 'can be delivered quickly' requirement so I've got one coming tonight.
