Is the chain guide thing really needed for 1x8 or 1x9 setups?
There is some debate about that online. I don't want to throw a chain with my son on the back due to a badly timed gear change on my part. That's my rationale anyway. If you ever make southeast beers you're welcome to have a look at my setup.
