I like him, not sure he's a particularly good fit for the way arsenal play, you seemed more effective with sanchez playing up front and then dropping back into the midfield space to receive the ball and play in midfielders bombing on..Emirates Cup is a chance for folk who don't normally go to football to see the inside of a stadium. You'd learn more through reading tea leaves than by watching those games.
Giroud is a big presence, he draws the defenders to him and frees space for the midfielders to run into. The Palace game showed his influence. Sonogo (who I still thing is a decent prospect, he is excellent at winning the ball but lacks the experience to make much out of it) couldn't make his presence felt against Palace, who were superbly organised, so they could maintain their brick wall and shut out any threat from midfield. Once Giroud was on his movement created that uncertainty and holes started to appear. In that game I would have liked to seen him subbed in for Arteta to go 2 up front for the last 20 mins as I think that could have opened the gates.
