@Snoops I am interested. Just looking at getting a GS-911 to read the service information/reset the faults etc. The Booster Plug I have works by fooling the ecu into reading the air temp 10 degrees lower making it run richer. It smooths out the power delivery when you're twisting the throttle but doesn't work so well at steady rpms. The reason they affect acceleration not MPG from steady rpms is the open/closed ecu system. The system is only 'open' when you are making significant changes with the throttle and the ecu takes time to keep up with the readings from the O2 sensor. At steady rpms the O2 sensor bosses the rest of the inputs. You can get a kit to fool the 02 sensor and set a richer target for the ecu.
@ Jung. I totally agree, the aftermarket is dying because the manufacturers jump through all the legislative loops that change every few years then change the technology and rely on customers upgrading more frequently. They can't afford to be interested in longevity. I must be getting old because the golden age in my mind is the big 2 stroke era, and they've been forced out of production by emission rules. It's why I've held onto the TZR, memories!

Great result @inchpincher, did the popo say whether it was taken in a van, or ridden off?
This seems to me to be a very cumbersome way of stealing bikes.

Distinguished Gentleman's Ride just been announced for this year, on the 28th of September.
http://www.gentlemansride.com
I did it last year and it was a brilliant day out. My intention is to go again this year, although I'm not sure I'll be able to ride because of the radiotherapy. It might be impossible for me to wear a helmet by then, so I may have to be an interested observer at the start only. -

Putting bikes in vans is an amateur's trick.
Police say that most thieves do this, but they mean most thieves that are caught do this.
Successful bike thieves break locks, hotwire bikes, defeat alarms and ride away.
Even a slow bike can escape from a police car most of the time, whereas vans get stuck in traffic and deliver the thieves to the scene of their arrest. -

Sorry if this is a pea roast...
Watch with the sound full up!

Fancy a ride in a side car?

Depends on the bike, and what it will be stolen for.
Honda Hiss system was hacked by scrotes. Jimmy Tan didn't use a van.

Nope, been there (on the road), never been so terrified, not ever!

Am I deranged to even be considering riding to Iceland on the ZX-6RR next summer? Don't know if I can bear the hassle of selling the bike for something more suitable. I'd take a backpack and stay in hotels/ferries.

Yes. There's loads of water in the way!

You're right BQ, I didn't understand why they left the cover but it was obviously cause they rode it off.
Recovered it from the pound today (£160) and got a pal to trailer to my folks (£50). Minimal pillage but will need new ignition and associated key set (£80 odd), right pannier and rack replaced (£100 odd), Givi topbox (£50-100) and maybe a scratch or two painting over.
All in all with an excess on my policy of £500 I'm better off not claiming, what a waste of time. At least she's back and hopefully not too ragged. -

Damn right I do!

Yup! Sidecars = scarier than fuck!
;)

Side cars on the road are fine, I rode a Ural combination to the Elefentreffen. Have thought about sidecar racing, but after my friend was killed in an accident sort of made wary.

Totally nothing to do with this thread, but Milford Haven always makes me laugh...

The company i chose to do my DAS with are total shite.
They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. It's been two weeks since my Mod 1 and there have been at least 6 last minute test dates I could have made and, despite making them aware of them; they've failed to book a single one.
Do not use Ace Rider Training

Try Camrider. I found them to be very professional.
Very strong until 3/4k, then the infamous plateau until 5k when you get a bit of top end. I have bought a chip from a guy called John1100gs. He's on various BMW forums.
The chip has great reviews. It should smooth out surging, which I have not seen from my bike, and boost power by richening the mixture, but it does not increase MPG as it only richens the mixture on acceleration. Or something like that. There's all sorts of graphs and tables you can look at if you're of that persuasion. I just love the idea of this nutter in his shed with his bike hooked up to his PC on a rolling road. He sends two chips, one for standard exhaust and one for non cat, more open exhausts. I'll report back in a few weeks if you're interested.
