  • I also left a black jumper (cheap Aldi thing with rubberised back gripper). If anyone picked it up, please PM me, thanks!

  • Vince rectified the problem, but by that point we'd switched to paper and trying to manually stage the games and enter scores was too complicated.

Sorry to hear that. Vince will be in Montpellier, so I'll make sure to talk to him about that. If you want to give me a copy of the paper results, I can try and add them in at least.

  • Not sure where it needs correcting now, but the lineup of Flowery Twats should have been John, me and Oli Fenton.

  • What size crease did you use in the end (all useful feedback for the next ruleset)

  • Another shout for help today (now, ideally) with court take down, helping load the HGV.

We don't want it to cost the LHBPA any more money... If you can get here please hurry!

  • I haven't got an Oli Fenton in Podium. Where is he from?

  • yorkshirrreeee

  • @John_H Sheffield, he's John Fenton's lad.

  • done

  • A semicircle 4ft out from the edge of the goal. Probably could've been a bit bigger.

  • Fantastic tournament and atmosphere. Huge thanks to all those involved for making this DIY tournament happen and organising food, drinks and party. Always impressive.

The fun vibes made for really positive play. I really like the crease rule as it was implemented at the LO (2 seconds in the 'D', 2 foot out from each post). I think the hooking rule will take more time to get used to but it seemed ok.

  • That was a long and shitty drive back but the awesome tournament was totally worth it. Thank you Shane and Woody for fun games and everyone else for fun times.

  • Yes! Awesome tournament guys. Watched some excellent polo and loved every minute of it.
I've also got a bit of a lost property request, I'm afraid. Left a green Chunk bike polo hoodie hanging beneath the court A ref seat. If it's found, would you be able to message me please?

  • Excellent tournament! Awesome organisation, fun, etc! It was great!

I really liked both rules. And I agree with Cam that a bigger crease could have been good. It did not make to much difference on avoiding double goalies, if that was one of the intentions.

I would definitely include the no hooking rule as soon as possible. It made a difference, the games were so much cleaner. It also made them quicker as people did not have to stop because their mallets were stuck with another mallet. Anything that makes the game to be smother should be included as it makes it more fun to play and to watch.

  • Hooking rule was shitty, the crease one got rid of all the bad type of hooking anyway.

  • Also, I'm missing a mallet, red shaft and head.

  • I'll be uploading many photos here (some are there already):

and in this group, where you can post your own as well:

The 'Islington Tribune' asked for photos for an article on the LO. So some of you might be in there as well...

Thanks everyone! Even coming last (I assume we did) didn't stop me from enjoying the tournament!

  • Whatever was in the rule you gave us john. It was good I though. I liked the side. Agree about the hooking rule re: cleaner games. They were also more fun to watch and play, lots of ball play no jousting! :)

  • Great tournament. Nice vibe. I think both rule additions were great.

Jono for on-court MVP. Those Aussies can sing! UK Ultras need to get some tips for Montpellier. "Monorail" cracked me up.

  • H-bahn's all about the monorail.

  • Thanks to the LHPBA and all volunteers...special mention to Nik, Ryan, Jono, Tim, Fuschia, Sophie, Maddie, HAyden Wood HAyden Wood, Jimmy, Rik, Paul, ALi, Matt, Mya loads moar people than this. PAul and Will for taking great pics too.

Was a pretty chilled out tourney and the rule additions were actually quite good. Maybe the crease would be bigger? The hooking was interesting and would be good to feedback to john H & gang. Also nice to see lots of new players and also lots of UK polo players making the wkend trip out.

  • Massive thanks Tim, Nik, Jono, Ryan, Sophie and everyone else.

Had fun playing with Ste and Chris.

It was a good decision to keep the crease rule and drop the hooking rule.

@H-bomb and @Cam -- I think the crease was an 8 foot diameter.

    (Thanks for the pic, Will!)

  • Dunno if it was created this weekend, but the Mooooon Dial chant was also pretty special.

I reckon there was way less hacking than normal on Sunday, precisely because the previous day had set the tone. Or maybe it was just a generally chilled vibe. I predict massive hackathons at the Worlds...

  • @John_H This post specified the crease as 2 feet from each post and 8 feet from the goal centre, so the wording may have been a bit weird https://www.lfgss.com/comments/11764806/incontext/
