I'd steer clear of LA building control if you can afford it, in my experience they tend to be over officious and apply the regs to the letter of the law, not the intentions. We pretty much always use Assent Building Control in my office, they cover all of London. Not sure what an approval only would cost though.

Has anyone here ever bought their share of a freehold?
I'm in a leasehold flat and someone told me that if we get enough of the tenants together we can force the landlord to sell the freehold to us. -

I haven't but that is indeed the case, as my boss and former landlord have both done the same

I've just done a bit of googling and it looks possible. You need two thirds of the tenants to agree, and it costs a bit in terms of solicitors fees and so on, but it might make life easier for everyone in the long run.
I've got a lot of free time at the moment, so I'll start poking the other tenants and see who's up for it. -

Anyone ever self-conveyanced? Selling an empty, freehold, wholly owned house so it should' the too hard?

Been following this thread for months now, alternatively getting terrified by some outlandish predictions for the future of the market and gleaning some useful advice here and there... but just exchanged on a little two bed between Honor Oak and Crofton Park. VERY excited. Little garden and space for bikes...

Why are teenage drug dealers so rubbish at being discreet?
-
• #6023
Next time, arrange to meet around the back of the Sainsburys instead at the self-checkout.

Old man.
Anyway, teenagers and discretion are unhappy bedfellows.

Bright sunshine. Hood up. Drawn tight. Little man bag.
Crack head pacing around. It's sort of laughable.
Anyone have any recommendations for approved inspectors in New Cross area? My father in law is a builder so just looking for someone to approve the works. Speaking to the council in the morning but wondering if anyone has any other personal recommendations.
