• Hello all, I've recently come into possession of a 1959 Viking Mileater and will be returning it to factory fresh condition over this coming winter. If anyone here has any of the following parts, do let me know - would be a huge help! I also have a brand new and sealed Brooks B17 titanium if trades are doable.

Williams C1232 double crankset or equivalent
Brampton Alatet or TDC Continental S headset
Airlite or Campag GS high flange hubs or equivalent (for 5 speed freewheel)
Bayliss and Wiley BB for double crankset
Dunlop or early Alesa 27 inch alloy rim or equivalent
    GB Touring Bend bars
GB Superhood levers and GB Coureur Plus brakes (if in better condition than those already on the bike)
Brooks B17 antique brown with chrome rails
White Bluemels mudguards - Club Special or Lightweight
    Any period pedals (Lyotard?)

  • I think I might have a Bayliss Wiley BB in my parts bin somewhere. The spindle is for a single, I might just have one for a double, but you can pick up spindles at jumbles easier than you can cups, lockring etc. Not sure if the bearings might want replacing. Give me a shout if you're into having a look at it.

  • Check out Universal Cycle Centre for finishing kit and parts.

You're entering a world of pain!

  • Cheers man, on second glance the BB seems to be alright, but I may chase you up on that if the bearing surfaces are knackered on mine

A world of pain indeed, but I like a challenge/a way to soak up all my money not spent on food/rent :P
