  • Anyone else use a gillette fusion and have a problem with the head constantly popping off and nearly slicing your face up?
Just want to make sure this isn't normal before I get a replacement.

Edit: ordered a Merkur 34c with some feather blades, badger brush and some decent shaving cream.
    Fuck Gilette.

  • I honestly have no idea why anyone would use an electric.
The glory of the routine of a good wet shave when you have the time is hard to beat.

  • As you say, when you have time. Also doesn't fuck your face up as much.

  • Been wet shaving with a double edge razor since ^^that post. Will never look back.
Used to have permanent shaving rash on my neck and its completely gone. As have in-growns. Skin is overall better.

Ive heard black dudes (or anyone with a very curly beard) tend to have problems with shaving rash etc and DE shaving just fixes that.
And its cheaper than shitty cartridge razors.

  • I bought an electric razor the other day - they are, not to put too fine a point on it, rubbish when compared to a wet shave, but you can shave whilst ironing your shirt in the morning, leaving more time for riding.

  • electric shavers are warm. yuck.

  • Well, I can wet shave with a straight razor whilst wrestling a bear so htfo.

You're right though, in a pinch electrics will do the job quickly.

  • Stubble > electric razors

  • Went for an Edwin Jagger DE89L, should be here soon

  • made this for someone the other day.
A double edge, safety razor case.

Fuck so that's where I've been going wrong, always get a rash on my neck.. Will have to invest in a double edge!

  • It's about two and a half years now since anything other than a straight razor took hair off my face.

I have the luxury of only needing to shave once a week or so, hence the time taken isn't an issue. Takes me about fifteen minutes start to finish.

I've got three razors now. They're quite addictive.

  • Where do you buy them?

  • A little barbershop on Fleet street...

  • @Murtle

You should consider.. the Vaping world…

  • @marom
been in it for 15 months....

  • I may have missed something, but I didn't see any case for the vaper..

    It's marcom btw

  • Just bought an Edwin Jagger De89bl, will be my first wet shave in 5 years

  • @marcom
    soz, my "c" sticks

I started the e-cig/vapor thread...and have made quite a few.

  • I know it's a mess.

    I'll try… to looking for.

  • and it's @31t®um :)

  • How was it? What lather did you use?

  • Got a couple of restored vintage off the web and ordered a brand new dovo carpé diem from invisibleedge.co.uk.

  • Cheers!

  • First shave using double edge razor last night. I became aware very quickly how sharp feather blades are.
