Can anyone tell me the advantages of Cantilever brakes on a touring bike?
I'm looking at a frame on ebay but it doesn't have them, do they allow for more clearance of full fenders?

Price per linear metre? Collection from?

as i understand it, you face the non-drive side, it'll push the drive side crank out.
i'm looking to get this done as i have 2mm of spacer between my hub and cog which i'd like to get shot of. -

something along the lines of shimano xt as seen below
http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/shimano-deore-xt-hb-m770775-front-wheel-quick-release-skewer/aid:293710this is a good price but they charge through the nose for P&P

Looking for an eddy merckx jersey with flowers or some shit on the sleeves
Any ideas? -
• #62708
What?
Do you mean a jersey which says 'Eddy Merckx' on it, or something more like the recognisable orange Moltini trade team jersey? -
• #62709
Not sure.. I have a feeling it says Merckx on it somewhere but its certainly not iconically recognisable like the Moltini jersey.

Have a look at Prendas. They stock a lot of that sort of kit.

Has anyone got a nice route to Southend on Sea?
-
• #62713
We did a Southend ride a few years ago. Check the old ride thread - it was a nice route.

Does anybody know if the rim wear indicator on Campagnolo Neutron Ultra wheels is a groove, or a mark? Just bought some and the indicator is there, but its smooth, and I'm not sure if there's any life left in them.

Any good recommendations for a new OTP ladies bike? I'm after a mixte or step-through kinda thing for a casual cyclist but want to avoid Halfords-style BSOs. Any help appreciated.

My newish bamboo plant has turned yellow. I went away for a week or so and when I got back, it had blown over and my housemates hadn't picked it back up again. It's had plenty of water since, and isn't dead, but it looks a bit unsightly.
Is there anything I can do to help it, or is it fucked?

The horticultural expert of the house is at the allotment, but bamboo is an evergreen so a yellowing of leaves usually means they are about to drop and new ones should grow in their place. This usually happens in spring though I think.

Brake pad upgrade from stock 105 pads. What would people suggest for aluminium rims? Performance > longevity

Swissstop Green or Kool-Stop salmon, I've been really impressed by both.
Cheers. That's really helpful and exactly what I was after.
Generally I don't mind investing in quality stuff that will last. However, it's likely that we'll be in Patagonia in February - March, and still have another 2-3 months after that... so lugging a tent around the rest of Argentina doesn't really appeal when we've already got a lot of stuff due to time/variety of climates/etc.
But then maybe that's just a better argument for buying high quality light weight kit...
