  • They're separate quotes, not nested.

  • And ^ that is in reply to Tester, but not showing as such.

  • There were already two blank lines between them

    .

    They're separate quotes, not nested.

Place a character after the second line break

  • Or use BB code

    placing each quoted section

inside its own set of [ quote ] tags

  • And ^ that is in reply to Tester, but not showing as such.

Interesting, it shows up twice in my timeline as 'TW replied to your post'

  • I came here to kiss the hem of the man who made jump to new post work

    #rep @Velocio

    #typeoffeedback?

  • No difference.

Go processes this and strips /r so that all new lines are merely /n.

The markdown library acknowledges /n and only needs to acknowledge that as it cannot receive /r due to newline translation within Go.

Interestingly, if Go is built for Linux (it is in our case) the strings (actually []byte) are left alone when leaving Go. But if build for Windows (it is not) then newline translation would put back all of the \r's.

But in our case, line breaks make no difference as Go sorts it.

  • I can't log in on my android phone because I don't know my gmail password due to injudicious use of lastpass and being too much of a tight-arse to pay for the mobile app. This is YOUR fault.

Also on my phone it's unpossible for me to tap the top right "..." icon because it's covered by the logo image which also happens to be broken. This may not really matter as my phone runs on Android 2.3.4 and consequently is using Webkit 533.1 which has probably not been used by normal humans since about 1785 (and also doesn't really matter to me personally because I can't log in anyway because of my first world problems).

  • I'm afraid I'm not going to fix these old things.

    But as workarounds:

    1. Open up LastPass on your desktop and view your password for Gmail, then go to the phone and spend the few minutes typing it out and signing in. It will stay signed in for a good while.
    2. On logo overlap on such a small screen, allow screen rotation and put the phone in landscape to access the menu.
  • Is it intentional that the sticky threads don't show who last posted and when?

  • Yes.

Stickies are kinda SHOUTY in their yellow highlight, and tend to be more timeless and community owned in their content.

As such, I didn't want them to unduly dominate the list of items.

I also wanted to discourage other forum mods from being tempted to sticky everything... there being this downside, less info will be shown even though it does get pinned to the top.

So it's a balancing act between "It will stay at the top and people will notice it" and "Don't sticky too much as it will impair a forum if too many things are pinned (less info communicated)"

  • I thought it might be, and it makes sense in the context of the forum view, but on the following or today feeds I find it a little useful to see who last posted (I am in no hurry to go see the erudite comments that some names promise).

  • I bet you feel stupid now, for having strong and different passwords for each and every application you use.

Change your password to '12345' or 'password', and you'll be fine.

  • Quick note to add my thanks for fixing the new-post anchor links in Safari.

  • Could we have latest post author and maybe time on the mobile version too, please.

And I thought that the first few lines of the thread in a hoover over tool tip kinda thing was extremely useful too. In the not mobile version of course.

    Thank you.

  • This is much better than velocio's suggestion, sit down for half a hour and type out a 25-digit, all-character-type password on a mobile keyboard?! He is a crazyman.

I'm changing my gmail password to "password", none of you go in and read my emails, k?

  • Actually I keep my Gmail passwords long but simple for this reason.

Not just because it's easier to remember and type, nor because the entropy is high.

But because I use 2 factor auth, so the password can be relatively simpler because by itself it does nothing.

  • Could we have latest post author and maybe time on the mobile version too, please.

I agree. How about swapping the 'thread started' and 'latest post' round? So that thread started sits beneath the number of comments etc. and the latest post beneath the title on the desktop view. Then on the mobile view you just get the latest post info, which is far more useful in my opinion.

  • This has already been done for Following and Forums.

We will get to Today and Search soon. It is surprisingly more difficult than you image.

  • Great, probably more difficult than I imagine too ;-)

  • Not a big one but some @'s aren't working? For example why is the one too me in this post grey?
    https://www.lfgss.com/comments/11767161/

  • That is strange. It's possible my code isn't as good as I thought it was

  • ^ I've had the odd @ not work as well.

  • You may need to CTRL+F5 to see it, but I've given then pagination buttons a little more room, and converted the Page [x] of Y back to a text input (too many issues with Firefox, older browsers, IE, etc... no support of shadow DOM for styling, odd sizes elements, etc).

This is in readiness to make some form of pagination be at the top on mobile.
