Continuing my flirtation with RX31s, is jamming a 135 OLN wheel in a steel Charge Filter 130 OLN frame going to be a PITA?
Likely to need cold setting and dropout alignment?

I've a 135mm OLN disc wheel you can try with if you want, Steve. I'd have thought it'd be fine, there's usually enough spring in a steel frame to give you 2.5 mm either side.

It may have changed, but Campag friendly disc hubs were rarer than hens teeth a few years ago.

That was in response to T-V post in the previous pages, let me edit the post to make it clearer.

Good call, just serviced mine last week, surprisingly easy without any tools needed.

Don't know anything about these wheels, but here are some zipp 60's for £699 for the pair

They weigh 1,800g according to Road.cc.
Not exactly light.

I'm after some chris king help please guys, If i buy a Chris King R45 in campagnolo format, and want to convert it to Shimano 11 speed, do I need just the new driveshell/freehub or do I need the internal axles etc.
My thinking is the former because the shimano 10 to 11 conversion uses the axle for respacing the hub, moving it a bit more to the nds to make space for the freehub, but shimano 11 and campagnolo freehubs are the same size, so shouldn't be needed?! Help!

It's not designed to be a climbing wheels...
-
• #3613
Can't you just use a 11 speed campag casette with the groupset and not have to change the freebhub?

What's the most durable wide rim available?
I want to replace my current commuter rear wheel with a new build onto a Powertap G3.
Unless it's cheaper to buy a pre-built G3 wheel and wait until that wears out? G3 hubs from the USA are £375 on ebay - anyone seen cheaper?

Rigida Sputnik, from what I have read recently. I haven't used it though.

Cool, thanks.
There's a couple of built options on ebay on Archetype and A23 rims - know how they compare?
-
• #3617
Archetypes seem strong enough but I'm not sure about durability - my front braking surface is wearing alarmingly fast in these wet conditions. Faster than I remember rims like Open Pros, DT or even cheap alex rims. That's on shimano brake blocks. Loads of of that black alu powder gunge covering the bike and some corrosion already showing around the spoke nipples on both rims. I've been running them for around 3 months.

A23 are flexi shite.

heavy, V (ish) profile and narrow rims. I almost bought them but then saw these: http://www.swissside.com/hadron

y u no swisstop?
-
• #3621
Open pro ftw.
Hippy - don't use a23's: tiny braking surface, soft rims, not very round, flex like anything.
Archetypes are generally the best reviewed - I've not used them myself yet. -
• #3622
Hmm.. ok well.. I'll factor that into the pricing. If they disintegrate quickly I can have them built with a tougher option.
-
• #3623
Because they are lighter than the other options or was it a shit build?
-
• #3624
Righto, so unless super cheap I'll ignore the A23 offering. But Archetype might be ok for 12 months or so.
The A23 already has two years of use so maybe a pass. I'd really prefer to locate a cheap hub and have Scherrit build it but I kinda need it quick so an option off ebay might be a quick win.

tb-14 h plus son?
I was going to build some up as wide training wheels.
These are 135mm OLN as are the budget RX05 wheels and the hubs are not sold separately even though they were being touted last year as being for sale and prices were quoted.
