I ordered the city rain jacket on Wednesday evening, got despatch confirmation today.

The City Rain Jacket is one of my fav' items. Almost tempted to buy another one myself just to store away for when my current one eventually gets trashed/worn out. That shade of orange is just so right somehow.

Have they managed to make the City Rain Jacket more breathable? I love my old PS one, but its far too boil in the bag for riding in. Tempted by the wind jacket though

The eternal conundrum (myth?) of waterproofing vs breathability. I'm wondering whether the Hooded wind jacket might be worth a punt - even though hoods are generally shit for riding it looks like it folds away well enough and will provide a bit of shower-proofing. And I'd prefer something fairly light that I can layer up rather than have something a bit heavier and end up sweating like a insert politically-incorrect simile here

(going OT) my cheap off ebay Goretex jacket wins hands down in Waterproof+breathability, and I love my PTJ for longer/faster rides for breathability+warmth (and ignore the rain), but think (hope?) the hooded wind jacket might be good for shorter rides/commuting and being packable (and that orange !)

Tried the trade team jersey in store yesterday. Exact same issue I have with every Rapha garment I try. Small is too tight and Medium is too baggy .. good piece of kit though especially for £60. Tried the hardshell for lols; proper oven that.

arms are v.baggy on the trade jerseys (being used to the pro team short sleeves). will have to have them taken in

Whats the consensus on the Softshell? Too warm?

Only if you're in Aus

Can only recommend the long sleeve base layer for sitting in the reception of an alpine hotel after not beating the rain and cold to the top and down from the Cormet de Roselend by 10.00am.

Which way did you go down? The descent down to Bourg St Maurice ranks as one of my top three descents; it has a mix of everything, fast sweeping bends, some nice long straights to gauge how brave you are and then a fantastic technically demanding section with some fearsome drops.

Not proper Rapha enough to risk shivering to Beaufort or keep shivering over the Col du Pre for the full loop.

@andyp This thread is for posing, not riding. Thank you.

Left Bourg at 7.00am in baselayer jersey and oversocks. Steady rain from the long stretch where you are on the left side of the hill where the hotel is in the valley on the right.
Then a fierce headwind on the switchbacks and the last 2km which lead straight to the col.
Descended and shivered back to Bourg in knee and armwarmers, gilet, rainjacket, merino hat and full finger gloves.

Not a hint of irony...

Is there a knowledge as to whether it's possible to 'blacken' the colours on a club jersey? Beyond simply using a permanent marker.
I do want to get a team sky club one, however could not wear something with team sky written on it.

Buy a different jersey!
Also the sky club jersey is cut long, it's designed for wearing with trousers so your midriff is not exposed.

If you can put to one side the Sky association, the letters themselves are reflective which is a nice safety feature.

But the club jersey is cheap!
It didn't seem that long. Tried a M on, seemed about right.

I am loving the wind shirt, still beading water even in yesterdays downpour. A shame they discontinued it in favour of the hooded wind jacket.

The irony would be? cyclists drinking coffee after hours of cycling?
Check out any of those guys and you'd know they are pretty serious cyclists.

@Tenderloin the irony being that the majority of people that would buy the Rapha kit would spend far more time drinking coffee than cycling...
I bought the city rain jacket today, tempted by the sale, and the orangeness.
Be a week or so before it arrives I imagine however.
