Funnily enough I bought a new scanner yesterday and I'm getting better, tried scanning some provia 120 at huge sizes but it makes correcting so slow on my old and dying computer, doesn't help that it's slightly underexposed either.

^^^Fair enough, even change bag?

I've got some various 6x9 to do but I should get proper scans really, at least of any frames that are worth it...

I couldn't find anything worthwhile on mine really so I went with one that would be challenging instead.

I shot some of that agfa CMSii on holiday and just scanned it.
First impressions are that the negs come out very thin and almost as clear as glass in some spots.
I shot it in the gr1 at 25ASA and then push processed (14 mins in adotech II 1+29)
What they say is true, it resolves VERY highly but no matter what I do I can't get the stuff to flatten (had about a week under books and weights) so I can't get a scan that does it justice, just keeps coming out looking a little out of focus/fuzzy when I know the shot is crisp.
CMSii by 40 skid patches, on FlickrWill shoot the next roll at 12ASA in the pentax now that I've got a wider lens on it.
Another note is that this stuff is really rubbery, I usually tear my film off the spool and with this I just couldn't, actually some to minor stretch marks on the first/last frame :/ guess I'll have to use scissors...
Really loving home dev, I feel very in control.

I have 8 rolls to develop but I am totally skint for the foreseeable future. This is painful! I put a lot of trust into my Mju II and mainly shot on that over 16 days in the alps. I am terrified the autofocus will have completely failed me.

what are peoples thoughts on scanning flatbed (Epson V5/6/700?) vs dedicated 35mm scanner? (Plustek 8100?) i've got a good shoe box full of negs i'd like to revisit...
Obv: flatbed i can scan multiple frames at at time. however Plustek does come with a copy of Silverfast.
I haven't ever scanned film so have no idea of the best work flow... I do however use Photoshop/Camera Raw and are pretty competent at scanning images

Unless you want to scan med/large format then get a 35mm scanner - Nikon if you can.

I only do 35mm at the moment, and I use a Plustek with Silverfast for scanning the negs.
Dedicated 35mm scanner is apparently better, quality-wise, compared to flatbeds, but usually more of a hassle. It's good you're competent at scanning images in general, but if you're going the Silverfast route prepare to invest a lot of time getting to know how it works and to be frustrated a lot because it really doesn't make your life easier.

Right, I still have a Bessa R3A and Nokton 1.4 I should probably get rid of. Anyone here interested before I put it on the 'bay? Was thinking £550 with the lens hood and a couple of filters. Obviously negotiable. Talk to me.
