There were a some Iraq veterans commenting on those pictures saying the police in the picture are more heavily armed and armoured than they were when on patrol. Also camouflage BDUs for what purpose?

Point was also being made that the Army in Iraq are there to project the fact they are an occupying force and intimidate/surpress resistance ; completely the fucking opposite of what policing civilians is about.
