  • The cup is paper, from coffee place near office.
I had the same problem than you with smelly plastic coffee cup and had to get rid of it. I recently bought something better, apparently "limited edition" from a company called "keep cup". The body of the cup is made of glass, with a protecting ring. The lid is plastic but no smell so far (had it for about 2 month now and I use it once a day, twice sometimes depending on routine.

  • I couldn't conceive of a world where I'd ride a bike in a manner which would allow for the enjoyment of a mid-ride sip on a cup of coffee.

  • That look super fun.

    narrow tyres, do not want.

  • How does one remove that bidon!!

Just seen electronic with shifters on bar ends. /dream.

  • i would love to have that last bike too. it looks like it has everything one would ever need on the road.

  • Side mount cages, I assume.

  • That's Martin cox transcontinental bike I think.

I don't disagree, and wouldn't use it all the time (I've only installed the handlebar cage yesterday)
I thought it was good though. I commute from home to where I work, get my coffee, and can then easily carry it from the caf to the office. I've installed it as a coffee cup holder, but it's a normal bottle cage, just set vertically as opposed to the downtube one. I'll probably get bored of it at some point too, which is the case everytime I fall for that kind of gadgets. If it's a paper cup it needs a piece of clear tape over the hole or it splashes a bit when riding over bumps.

On another note I've shellac-ed the coton tape. Second time in my life I do this and I really live the stuff.

  • I like your style veLLo!

  • A member of my club is riding the transcontinental on this:

  • I've joined the functional club sticking a massive Wald rack and porteur-ish bars on my bike and discarding the silly hipster risers.

Loving riding around without a bag on my bag and the more upright position. I also love how much some men get upset by a girl over taking them though. And I thought all men loved a massive rack ; )

  • That is a massive rack! What's it like steering when loaded up?

  • ''a bag on my bag''

    Yo dawg....

  • tbh it's a bit too big for my tiny bike and the rack stays that should hang over the bars are actually vertical....if I fill the basket up too much they can't take the weight and start to drop towards my front wheel so I may yet size down. Or go spacer crazy!

And I taking corners a bit wider than I used to :D

  • It's pretty awesome, if you end up liking this kind of lark, you can get the fork from @andy_k's link above you.

  • Look this italian Gios made in Italy!

  • LBS is getting in touch with the Soma importer, will report back on if they're being brought into the UK...

  • I bloody love this lark Ed!

If I want to ride my bike fast (lulz!) I'll go to track or get out in the country side but for rolling around town this set up makes perfect sense to me!

  • ^ exactly why I love my Pompino.

  • Is there a disc brake bike thread? I fancy a carbon disc roadie. And wanted to see all the good options.

  • CAAD10 Disc look good, bit ugly.

Reckon the normal road bike recommendation topic would still be fine for this.

  • Caad 10 disc is alu. No way!

    Synapse seems good.
