  • Has anyone contemplated the Huebner on NJS Ex?

  • seeing some beautiful bikes here, if anyone is selling an NJS frame around 51cm TT please send me a message

  • @Seven04 - here you go...

  • anyone interested in my vivalo? everything for sale except wheels (57.5 ctt)

  • My NJS parcel has been in customs for 5 days now. Called them and the guy said it could be because they are doing extra special checks on all items from Japan, or more likely its because there isn't enough information on the slip with the parcel, and they will write to me for more info, full invoice etc.

Anyone had any issues like this before?

extra bits for the build have mostly arrived and I am getting really impatient now...

  • What's the tracking number from EMS?

  • 5 days isnt even that long

  • It's only a week.

The longer you wait, the sweeter it'll taste.

  • EJ295759735JP

It just says "in customs". The dude from HMRC said use the same number on parcelforce website from now on but it still just says "in customs"

The guy said that all parcels from 7th of august had been cleared (mine arrived in customs on 6th) so there must be something else going on. He suggested because it was a parcelforce 24 package instead of a normal one it might need more information on it as its passed to an external company to check (e.g. UPS) and they might be writing to me for more info....

  • @Scoot had some hoo-ha with hers last year, iirc.

    Ask her.

  • Here's your Parcel Force equivalent number - EC134538834GB

Call Parcel Force. Quote this number. Ask them if you can pay the import tax over the phone. OR ask them for a 13 digit reference number so you can pay it online. I've had this three times this year. Once it's paid, they'll send it the next day.

  • Thanks. I've just tried calling them and they said that its just still in customs and I should wait till wednesday. The guy said if there is a customs charge then they will write to me, and there is no other way of finding out. I believe there shouldn't be one as the value attached to the package is below £135.

    Guess I'll wait. Hate waiting.

  • Sneaky crooks.
They're still gonna charge you £12 for holding the parcel for you.

Hopefully you'll get it sooner rather than later.

  • Good news: There is an update to the tracking status on Parcelforce website.

Bad news: New status is "Awaiting customs charging" :(

  • It will be on its way... mine took a similar time to be processed.

  • Spoke to Parcel force this morning and the lady said I had a £50 charge to pay, but could only pay it when it reached the Manchester office, probably tomorrow. Don't even care any more to be honest, just want my bike.

Will post a pic if before the end of the week if I can work out my flickr login and how to embed again.

  • They had my Stratos for nearly two weeks, I paid the charges and then was told their payment system was down and they couldn't confirm it had been paid or something. despite me ringing them up 10 times and offering to ride to the depot with a bank statement to prove the money had left my account. Fuck parcel force.

glad it got here eventually though...

  • Well it looks great, nice bit of inspiration.

  • Got mine all sorted out now and loving it.

    More pictures here

  • That's gorgeous.

Less good news for me. Picked up the frame today and the fork shows signs of a serious impact and is bent (Wheel doesn't sit straight). I knew about the minor impact on the top tube, but this was not mentioned in the advert and is altogether more serious looking to me.

I've sent an email with the pics attached, suggesting that I am sure it was an honest mistake but that I am not too thrilled about it...

    Here is the listing:

  • Also just noticed this, which isn't detailed in the listing either. Appears lug seems to have had enough force on it to crack the paint along the joint.

I feel like crying a little bit. Was so excited about riding this bike... I know it said slightly impacted on the listing, but the one bit of damage it showed was much more minor than either of these other issues imho.
