All politicians are greedy, self -serving cunts. The fact you want to become a politician should preclude you from becoming one. Politicians should come from people who really absolutely do not want to be one

i'd do it in a heartbeat. i'd be rich BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!

I do think politicians should be given a large allowance, some one who isn't wanting is less susceptible to corruption. But greed grows I guess!

So with being an MP is not quite as cushy as it used to be and the fact he doesn't seem to have fulfilled his ambitions he has decided to move on to new pastures and greater pay (I assume he is about to get a v. well paid job in private health care). So far so normal. What's shocking about all this is that he is so politically niave that he thinks verbalising it is a good idea. Shouldn't he just be sayying something like
blah balh achieved great things blah blah country back on track blah blah more time with my family blah blah extremely proud blah blah pursue other interests
then thank everyone and fuck off. How has he got this far being so politically inept?

mikec, you missed out 'egotistical', 'backstabbing' and 'two-faced'. And the rise and rise of the career politician also means that increasingly few of the current lot on either side of the house has any meaningful experience of work outside 'the Westminster bubble' or of the real world in general. So we could add 'clueless' to the list.
Don't even start with the MEPs. As far as I can see, their allowance structure doesn't even have the thinly-veiled pretence of of the parliamentary expenses system.

I think that's summed up my issue tbh, he should have the understanding that he is privileged and left in a thankful manner rather than sounding like he was hard done by. I'm sure a lot of this is spin and mis-quoting to sell papers but still twists the knife when people complain about not being given enough

Unless he is more astute than he seems and this is all just one huge misdirection for something altogether more murky.

odious, hypocritical, whining, self-pitying tory shitbag demonstrates almost comical levels of venality and lack of nous when discussing his personal finances which further highlights his inability / unwillingness to identify with the struggles of those who got him his job in the first place.
film at eleven.

It's almost like he's some kind of terrible cunt.

Rise in anti-Semitism at the moment which is horrendous but a witch hunt against a Jew by other Jews who hold differing opinions on the current Gaza situation.
I've read a lot of pieces calling for people to address Israel and not extend opposition/opinions to non-Israeli Jews, this seems to go against that.
(disclaimer, I do not preach anti-Semitic views or support them, neither do I lump all people of a certain faith/race together. Also the above is not articulated very well so I hope it is read in the way intended)

I once saw a dozen cops with guns of various sort drawn and pointed at a guy in a park in Burlington, Vernont. He had a knife and was threatening to cut himself.
