Oooh, if I pinch to zoom in to an image, like the one above, I can't zoom back out to view the whole page and have to refresh to reset the view. Probably a browser issue? Not exactly a hardship to refresh though
-
• #3831
You can't pinch the other way?

I realised why I found microcosm strange, the old forum felt big, mainly because there are so many boxes, link, button enough to pilot a nuclear submarine into a needle.
Microcosm felt much smaller with all the redundant part removed, or hidden, it feel very downgraded yet still provide us with the necessary tools (apart from the usual like rep, report etc.)
It's brilliant, it's defintely the best forum design I've used.

Persona login on iOS still playing up. Takes 1 or 2 attempts to login, and when it says "login for a month" it's never been more than three or four days.

Aside from that all working fine on the phone. The search still isn't perfect, but I believe that's something that's being worked on as you go. Just tested it again, doesn't look like I can refine the search results on my phone as you go.

Small layout issue on iOS: Not enough space for the "Next" button when all four buttons are present.

What iOS are you on? I'm testing a v7 device and it remains signed-in without issue.
I'm charging an older iOS6 device at the moment.

Is it deliberate that LFGSS isn't spelt out in full on the homepage anymore? Seems a bit odd to have an acronym without the full version.

Yeah all the people with geared bikes on this forum can go fuck themselves
-
• #3843
Huh? I just meant that it might seem a bit cryptic if you didn't already know what it meant!
-
• #3844
I like cryptic.
Plus, we started with a simple idea that riding fixed was a lot of fun (especially when combined with alcohol) and to bring together people who enjoyed that.
But what we've become is now bigger than that... and in many ways better. We are now a large group of people that just love having fun on bikes, and also like good stuff like alcohol, espresso, etc.
We tend to all have fixed or singlespeed bikes still... but so many of us have geared cyclocross, mountain bikes and road bikes.
So long as the differentiator is "we have fun on bikes (oh, and we like a drink sometimes and don't take ourselves too seriously)" then the name can be cryptic.
We also aren't even necessarily just London... which I also like. It's good going to Cambridge and seeing people having fun on bikes there, and so on.
Cryptic names FTW.

Will there be a change to stop SHOUTY POSTS, the brick lane thread first post is all caps.
Looks like it has now been rendered lower case
-
• #3848
Also it follows in the traditions of KFC, IBM, SGI, FTW, ETC.

Anti-SHOUT code already exists.
But it works only on comments that are all shouting, rather than some % shouty.
It's the equivalent of:
if comment.ToUpperCase() == comment { comment = comment.ToLowerCase() }
The post in question was typed out with CAPS LOCK on, but the person that typed it still shift-keyed the
I
at a beginning of a sentence. Thus, defeating the anti-SHOUT.I can make it work on a % basis, but it could still be defeated by unicode hacks, or quoting some other thing first.
Such things are never perfect... it's more about getting the majority of all shouting comments then it is about making it precise in all cases. The exceptions can be reported (PM me) and I shall deal with them by hand.

I was mobile and drunk... I meant that Google was the answer, not for you to use Google. But you guessed this correctly later. Apologies for any offence caused.
I miss "Trending"...
