Strangely enough I was just walking past this junction.
That whole stretch of cycle lane - east or westbound - has never been to my liking. The westbound one next to the taxi rank leads you right into an uncomfortable squeeze between heavy traffic and taxis pulling out, so I usually just ride in primary along there.
