http://www.madegood.org/bikes/repair/remove-a-freehub-body/
To remove your freehub, you only need a 10mm allen key which will fit inside the Shimano fixing bolt. then you need to keep that bolt to fit the 'fixxer'

Following a PM I have received, I can confirm that this is still available
Fixed wheel adaptor kit for Shimano cassette hubs to be used for road frames.
Does the exactly the same job as the now discontinued Surly Fixxer.
From the SPNK website:
DESIGNED & MANUFACTURED IN THE UK THIS EXTREMELY STRONG, LIGHTWEIGHT & STYLISH ADAPTOR LETS YOU CONVERT ANY SHIMANO HUB TO FIXED WHEEL
(except Silent Clutch, 2004 Dura Ace or pre-1997 Dura Ace)
WHEN THE CASSETTE BODY IS REMOVED THIS UNIQUE ADAPTOR SIMPLY SLOTS ONTO THE HUB AND IS FASTENED ON WITH THE SAME FIXING BOLT USED FOR THE CASSETTE BODY
TAKES LOCKRING 1.29" x 24TPI*
This is the road adaptor gives a chain line of 45mm for use with road frames (130mm rear end dropouts). The chainline will not be correct if you want to use it on a track frame. (You need to get the 40mm one for that)
Brand new unused, SPNK sells them for £39.99 - I am after £35 for mine.
Pick up from Gresham Street or Brixton - also happy to post at cost
Cheers
Vince
