I had a Carlton Corsair like this one stolen from in front of my house in Kingston upon Thames about 6-8 years ago. do you still have it and do you live in this area? Jim

Sorry someone stole your bike. Mine's in storage now - a refurb someday. It came from Cheshire originally, but that means little. I've had it a couple of years. The tyres on mine were originals, hadn't been ridden in years I'd say and appeared to have been very well cared for (dry storage).
They are not uncommon - I've seen several exactly the same model and colour on eBay since buying mine, and there's a B&B somewhere that offers one to its guests as a classic ride.

id call dibs on a couple of parts if you're interested in splitting..
I bought this bike with the intent to fix it up but as I've not touched it in a year I thought I would offer it the chance of a better home.
It's a Raleigh Carlton Corsair 60cm seat tube, 58 cm top tube (C-C) with Reynolds 531 main tubes. It appears to be original with Raleigh-branded groupset but of a better-than-average appearance - note the "drilled" FD and the nice chainset and pedals. The fork is part-chromed and long rake with an elegant crown - pretty lugs (IMO).
The paint is in excellent condition. It's bronze with a lighter panel on the headtube. The suede saddle is a bit grubby but not torn. Seatpost is the old style (saddle clamp tightens around top of post). Mudguards as shown, rear rack and turkey bars on the brakes. Cloth tape needs replacing. Nice large-flange wheels (yes, I see it was delivered with the QR on the wrong way). Wheels would be very nice with a polish.
Suntour "Power" downtube shifters (friction only) Double front with a5-spd freewheel with a huge (34) large cog. Freewheel is fine but needs surface rust removed. Raleigh Weinmann centrepull brakes.
It's usable as is but needs a polish. The top "Corsair" sticker on the top tube is slightly lifted. It's just stuck on over the paint so it could simply be removed. I would suggest cleaning, new tyres and tubes, new cables and brake blocks.
£275. Can be collected at or near Paddington station by arrangement - I'm into London once or twice a week.
