You're right, and I am planning on disc brakes. However, I did find one from Novatec that isn't too expensive. Might not be great value though, I'm not sure.

Kinesis Crosslight disc wheels are 11sp compatible and a light wheelset for £270 seems pretty good:

48t or 46t up front would, as you say, probably better. Like many others I'm really liking the new Shimano 105 which would be the reason for the 50t up front. As I understand it it's rather difficult to find a 48t or 46t for that chainset? Would I be better of going with a 10 speed group instead?
