My understanding is that it was part of the protests against an amendment to the Israeli draft laws which would remove the exemption for orthodox Hassidic jews from doing their national service. There may be an anti-Zionist element within the protestors, but so far as I'm aware they main focus of the protest wasn't the existence of the Israeli state, or the fact that the state of Israel uses its armed forces to defend itself/occupy parts of a foreign land (delete as to personal views), but only the fact that their fellow Orthodox Jews who live in Israel might be called upon to serve in the military rather than engaging in study of the Torah.
Reminds me of the excuses I used to use relying upon the need to do homework. 'I can't do the washing up, I've got homework to do'.

@chung
Nothing so drastic exists. I have a couple of wheelsets and they are 13/15mm rims so I just buy 25mm stuff so I can't screw up much.

Awesome thank you! :-) You're off number 2, no?

Please don't go and I am being sincere.

I bought the FFWD one for 20£ and The Zipp one costs the same - you can buy it in Østerbro Heino for the same amount, they keep them in the small drawer facing right on the desk - Ps. I haven't been over 10bar with any of them.

The irritation factor of the new format is currently far exceeding the utility factor of the forum. As I said, it needs to get better fast otherwise I'll find some other way to waste my time and forget that LFGSS ever existed.

Have you made a formal request for changes? I'd like to see you around. You keep this place together!
-
• #62585
Where can I find the formal request thing?
-
• #62586
Cheers... do you reckon they'll hold up to actual hiking as they're quite thin?
-
• #62587
Kind of here

No point. If I could be arsed to make a list, it would break down roughly like this:
1: Stuff that's broken for me due to my choice of browser. I could fix those myself by changing browser, but that's not going to happen and it would be a waste of time for Velocio to do anything for freaks like me
2: Stuff that's broken because the whole internet has been broken by the 12-year-olds who now run everything. Basically the 'socialisation' of the internet, where information isn't important any more compared with the obsession with interpersonal connection.
3: Stuff that's broken because Velocio has bet the farm on monetising every click. In this, he's only following the trend, but it's something which annoys the hell out of old people like me.
4: Stuff that is actually broken by accident because microcosm has been rolled out months before it is ready for use.Of these, only one is going to get fixed whatever I say.
Don't be misled by your own viewpoint, probably 99% of registered users on LFGSS have never even read one of my posts, so whether I stay or go isn't going to have any effect.

Yes, unless I DNS cos of the weather.
-
• #62590
But @mdcc_tester, if you go LFGSS will have to drop the "Friendliest Forum on the Internet" designation.
-
• #62591
so whether I stay or go isn't going to have any effect.
YES yes it will

It will be a loss of hugeness, a real resource for the entire internet species, a black hole in the empire of technology, a 99% of humour loss, my tears will flood the oceans, an entire slice of cake will be up for grab with no control what so ever, the babies philharmonic orchestra will start the loud tour,
3 and half tons of merchandising will be incinerate and the smokes of that will wrap and trap the entire cosmos. Please don't go stay here!!!!

That ffwd hole looks bigger than what I've got. The lever doesn't really interfere with the hole.

Awww come on dearie. How are people going to get their wheels built or their SRAM sorted? Htfu.
-
• #62595
But @mdcc_tester, if you go LFGSS will have to drop the "Friendliest Forum on the Internet" designation.
Seems unlikely, the friendliness quotient will actually rise if I leave.

ugosantalucia can deal with the wheels, he's not completely wrong about everything.
Nobody needs help with SRAM, it's a piece of piss to set up and stays in tune ten times as long as Shimano or Campag.

• #62597
Lies.
Fuck off then you evil SRAM sympathiser!

I'm looking at the Galapagos a the moment and from what I've read it's cheaper if you can go to the boat owner/operators offices direct.
I've found a few boats, but I'm struggling to find out the names / addresses of the owners.
Does anyone have any experience of this or know where I can find out the information?
Cheers

I could imagine forum gold like Clubman having a hard time dialing in to the new concept
@clubman seems to have migrated to timetriallimgforum, where they still, in spite of everything else that's wrong, stick to the essential bulletin board format which has served so well through decades of protocol changes from the earliest BBS through nntp to HTTP and beyond.
Some groups of ultra orthodox jews are anti zionist disliking the secular state of israel. They believe that there should only be a jewishs state when the missiah comes and rebuilds the temple. One notable group is the Satmar hassids many of whom live in Stamford Hill
