Just tried 105, do not like the hoods. Hard, large, lumpy and plastic. Shifting was fine, but not amazing.

Popped into Excel to get my rider bumpf, they had a Synapse in the hall that had Ultegra shifters - cable group, hydraulic brakes.
Looked very tidy.

5800 turned up.
It's not bad at all for the money. Matt black/gloss black cranks are alright.
Pretty happy. -

So i have a KCNC RD1 crankset lying around and would like to buy a Rival 22 group.
Should I just try using the kcnc crankset with the other Rival 22 bits or are the Rival chainrings so much better in combination with the FD?
How do 10s cranksets perform in general when combined with 11s parts? -
• #3248
Just use the crankset you have, it'll work just fine!
SRAM cable pull is the same between 10 and 11.
-
• #3249
Unless you want and excuse to match! Then it won't wonk ;)
-

If the cable pull is the same, does that mean I can use 11 speed shifter with a 10 speed drivetrain? (with the screw limiter set at the 11th).
Oh yeah, bugger. The wheelset I was going to use is 10 speed.
As for hood shape, I'll go take a test ride somewhere. I'm used to SRAM shaped hoods.
