POLICE are appealing for witnesses of an accident that resulted in the death of a Newbury cyclist yesterday (Wednesday) to come forward. The accident happened on Hambridge Road, close to Newbury Racecourse Station, at around 10am and involved a bicycle and a van. Thames Valley Police have confirmed that the cyclist was a 53-year-old man from Newbury but he is yet to be identified. His next of kin have been informed. Police spokeswoman, Connie Primmer, said that no one has been arrested but officers were continuing their investigation.
