My impression so far is that Microco.sm has done a good job of creating a forum optimised for Android handsets, but that everything else still needs significant development.

Not so much a bug, but huddle email notifications are showing the text of the message. I know this was removed from the old forum because of potential security issues, just wondered if that had been resolved?
(FWIW I think the helpfulness of being able to read the message in the email trumps the risk of security - if someone has access to my gmail then the least of my worries is LFGSS PMs) -

You might get an error is the search is too generic, touches hundreds of thousands of parts of the search engine, and effectively is timing out.
Make your search more specific.

It was determined not to be the issue of the problem at the time..

It looks washed out without it... I'll show you.

See, without quotes that looks like three random statements. Youmakeanosense

Is there a reason the next/last/first/page number navigations are at the top and bottom of a page on the desktop version but only the bottom on the mobile version?
-

You can help us with that second part by providing more details of what's wrong.
Are you on iOS6 or iOS7? Does it only happen in Safari or Chrome too?
When you get logged out of the forum, does it also log you out of https://login.persona.org/ too?Around 20% of our traffic is iOS. There are obviously problems, but it doesn't affect everyone which makes it even harder for us to debug.

Also, I cannot state enough how much better this site is on mobile. Pretty much full functionality at reduced screen size is a tough challenge on a site like this. Shows the best kind of UX and reflects a well thought out design process, well done all.
This.
If feels more like an app rather than a web page and is a pleasure to use. My data balance may not like it though! -

Logo is much better without outline. Maybe take the grey out of the header to be inline with the rest of the forum.
-
• #3613
maybe a slightly darker grey - are you limited to websafe #?

I'm finding the search function more challenging than before.
It seems to search my messages first, and not the forum as a whole, and then finding specific threads is a challenge.
Am I just being a bit slow (probably). Are there keywords to use?
I like the feel in general of the site, and in my final request- could we possibly have a button on the main toolbar to take us to the 'conversations' page?
Cheers. -

I'll second this. It's so easy to navigate to conversations on the mobile that it feels super clunky having to go via the homepage on the desktop version.

Not sure if it's been mentioned above, but I get email notifications to threads I'm subscribed to, and when I click the link it doesn't take me to the first unread post but rather the first post of the entire thread! Stolen Bikes is about 500 pages long and 7 years old... annoying to not be taken to first unread post.

On my /updates page the "Change your notification settings" button has text running off the button.

Is it a deliberate feature that we can't delete our posts any more? I'm guessing that the lack of quotes in replies is deliberate, but am not sure about the deletion. Maybe a list of deliberate changes would be useful.

I asked this during testing and it turns out you couldn't delete post in the old forum

vBulletin functionality used to be that you could delete your posts if the posts were made within 15 minutes, and after that you had to edit them.
The reason for that is to avoid breaking context and tricking people, i.e. to coax someone into saying something, nuke your post, and have their comment change context into something humiliating or offensive.
They allowed quick deletions as sometimes comments were made in error, in the wrong place, etc.
Presently we only allow the edits, but we are interested in returning a time based feature that would permit proper deletes if done within a short amount of time.

Could you do 'if last post'?

its gone all dark.

Could you do 'if last post'?
There are always edge cases... what does "last post" mean? Last visible? Last if nothing is merged into the conversation? Last only when not counting things in moderation queues?
Time is the best way to do it... you have a predictable window in which errors can be corrected, afterwards the fact that you made a comment is part of the historical record but we'd let you change what you said (a history is kept for legal reasons).
-
• #3624
Fair enough, I would have said last visible and in the rare case that something merged afterwards just let them edit like they do now

Blockquote
also getting this on Firefox for Android
Get rid of that stroke on the logotype though. You'll make Wayne cry.
