velocity a23 come in 650c and 700c. you get the comfort of 23mm wide rims, quite shallow profile and in black would be rad as.
love the gipiemme too; i actually have an ofmega track bb for sale if you want to refrain from campagnolo like i did on the previous guise of my gazelle

unmatched wheels are in fashion right now, if it was my bike I would get a high polish 43mm rim for rear wheel and buy a 650 used wheel with black rim/silver spokes/silver hub. I saw a bike courier on marylebone road today with such lo pro frame and that wheelset it looked super.

something a bit like this f moser

Unmatched rims, ugh, not on a classic build please. Only if there's a rear disc involved :)
Wolber TX Profil are nice and can be found NOS in both sizes.

You are trolling, aren't you? :D

The A23 are quite nice... I really wish h+son made the tb14 in 650c as well. That would be ideal imho!

Wolber clinchers? Yes please! Do you have any idea where to find them? I've looked on ebay few days ago but no luck...

That's a pile of steaming turd.

Go and sit in the corner, face the wall, and think about what you've done.

p.s. Somec is fantastic

was just trying to make friends with Breso by suggesting a youthful look (like Louise does in Mtv's Plain Jane). don't want Breso to be stuck in the past.

I know I'm old inside... :) but I can't just imagine the sparkles of a mirror finished modern rim on a scratched and abused 80's pure pedigree pursuit frame... it's going to be a sort of beater but far from a funny bike...
I actually have an ergostem and risers in case I want to make it younger somedays :) -

Mavic CXP12/14 etc? Clinchers, 700/650 etc.
-
• #15
I didn't find them online, not sure if they are still in production as the only mavic rim in 650c I found is the open pro....

Neon bar tape pls pls pls
-
• #17
aren't there some obscure fir rims to be hunted or something? would totally finish off the obscure italian vibe.
still think a23s would thrust you in the future though
-
• #18
I've found some fir but all in 700c and 28h... But I think I just solved, I've found a cxp33 650c, so I've ordered as well a 700c for the rear ;)
Maybe with the time I'm going to get a pair of assos laced to c record hi-flange... But definitely not for spinning around town. -
• #19
Ordered already neon orange and yellow!
-
• #20
fir? where?
-
• #21
pmd ;)
-
• #22
nice. please don't lace the new front radially!
-
• #23
because of the high count spokes?
-
• #24
yeah. not sure it would look great.

Needs risers and a spokk. ;)
Sub'd
So, I've been looking for months for a nice pursuit frame, and at the end I found this Somec pursuit frame (Columbus SLX tubing with Columbus AIR forks and seatstays) used by the regional team of Emilia Romagna (Northern Italy).
Since I don't have the frame with me (sadly will arrive at the end of the month) I'll post some pictures taken by the previous owner.
In these days I've been gathering the groupset, cockpit and wheels.
Crankset: Gipiemme Special Pista 165mm
BB: Campagnolo Record 111mm
Stem: Cinelli 1A pista 110mm
Bars: Cinelli LA84
Seatpost: frame will come with a 27mm Gipiemme post, but I have as well a Chorus 27, will see what will suit better.
Hubs: Gipiemme Special Pista low flage (the rear is currently at the lbs being serviced).
As the rims I can't really decide, mostly because it seems really difficult to find matching ones at 700c-650c.... Maybe some new mavic cxp33? Ah, I'd like to have clinchers on here as this bike will be just an uncomfortable mule.
