Nah, he just crashed into chan and was missing 4 spokes.
-
• #1003
Missing 4 spokes is quite slack.
-
• #1004
Well, it was a 32h rim and he should have bought a 36.
-
• #1005
Nah, he's just fat.
Chan, not Scott ;)

28 or 32 gator

What people use. 3x or 4x. For a 48h wheel build?
-
• #1008
3x both sides. Although for conventional disc wheels it's +1 on rotor side.
-
• #1009
Crows foot
-
• #1010
For almost conventional everything it's 3x errywhere.

Has anyone got a 26" 32H rim for sale?
-
• #1012
That's bit too early to be drunk Rob... ;)

spokes on lower end of tension means when the spokes get hit they less likely to break. I build my wheels with the perfect balance =D
-
• #1014
Nah, crank it up, broken spoke is better than a broken wheel, plus I reckon if the tension is lower it would bend more so could be more likely to break.
-
• #1015
Lower tension means it'll go through more load-noload-load cycles, and your wheel will be weaker.
Evidently.
It's the nipples which tend to fail when mine get hit.
-
• #1016
Tighter the better and also remember to lube the hole not the pole!

This.
Also: strong rims are better than blingy spokes and nipples.

Gators still for sale....
Scott previoisly pringled a Stan's Crest in Sheffield, so he's probably building them too slack.
