FAQ for those who migrated from the vBulletin version of LFGSS

I miss seeing only threads with new unread messages on the old subscribed page. Is there something similar planned for the Following page?

Just got home and refreshed the forum to find I'd gone back in time to vbulletin! Had to flush DNS in the router to get back to now....
I felt quite nostalgic after an afternoon of microcosm....

Hmm. Only c. 3-4 posts per screen seems wasteful and a lot of scrolling. The font size isn't the issue, it's just the white space at the sides of the screen and between lines. If it's to make it easier to view on mobile though, I guess there's no choice.

New posts aren't added to page unless I manually refresh.

I hate new design, why should I log in with my gmail details? Does google needs to know everything about me? Will be spending less time here, what a shame!

I agree with this. Would be nice to have just subscribed (or followed) threads with new posts in them listed rather than all subscribed threads with the yellow 'new' notification. Not a huge thing but the old way made it quicker to see straight away, without any scrolling. if there was anything new to read.

Google knows nothing about what you are doing. Lfgss asks persona who you are. persona asks google if you are who you say you are, without telling them why it wants to know.

There's a plan to add filters... "Only replies", "Only items with new comments", "Only mentions", etc.

i just can't see how to sign in with my user name.....what am i not doing?

That's good. Overall it seems much the same only slightly different. Like someone has redecorated and moved the furniture a bit and it will take a little while to figure out where everything is and once that's done you'll forget it was ever different.

It seems the search option includes Messages in the results. Not helpful if you want to search just messages though. Not sure if there is a way to define search criteria. I'm sure it's in the works if not yet available.

I miss the 'new threads/posts'.

There seem to be a lot of plans, and a vast amount of usability which has been lost. I appreciate that lfgss was straining at the seams of the old software/hardware, but from a user perspective it was fine and on the evidence so far microcosm is very far from ready for prime time.
