I'm changing my drivetrain from 3/32 to 1/8 as I need to replace my chainring anyway - cranks are DA 7710. So question - could just get another DA chainring or are the Sugino Zens worth the extra £15 or TA rings just as good? Not questioning strength, just overall roundness and smoothness.

Didn't find TA to be particularly round when I was racing, but good enough assuming the chain wasn't too tight.

Seat post clamps. Are they all pretty much of a muchness? The nut in mine just snapped under 2nm of torque (I assume as a result of corrosion from winter riding?).
I was going to get one of these Hope ones but wondered whether one of these Token Ti ones might be more durable?

Get one where the threading is in a little barrel. This barrel rotates and prevents bending (and snapping) the bolt.
The Ti ones you posted have such a barrel. -

If 30.6mm suits your frame, the Salsa Lip Lock clamp has the barrel-nut and CRC have them for £2.32.

Awesome cheers.
Salsa is too small unfortunately. I'll keep looking for a bit but otherwise I think I'll get the Tune one.

Anyone have any recommendations for a iphone app that I can upload some of these routes to, and use my iphone as a satnav? Ideally in my pocket with just a headphones telling me where to go?
Or are there any cycle sat-navs that actually work? My experiences with Garmin haven't been great.

So since the old post died from "The Change":
I'm looking for a front rack. Flat top and some way to fix a bag onto it. I'd like to carry my commuting stuff in there.
1 1/8" steerer tube, no low-rider eyelets, no canti mounts, no handlebar mounting please.
Any ideas? Thanks. -
• #62486
I have one of these you can have for £20
-
• #62487
Thanks. Do these work with DT shifter braze-ons?
Edit: no they don't, judging from the pictures. No idea how to fix/hack that at the moment.
-
• #62488
Oh. I doubt it. The mount attaches to the DT.

Do I need a special Campagnolo tool to remove Campagnolo Record Pista pedals and cranks?
Or can I get away with, you know, normal stuff I'll likely have in my toolbox?
Yeah I said toolbox.
