Despite what the horrendous jersey might suggest this was just the other day. Stopped for a drink and some food at Aberfoyle and noticed birds of prey on display. Got to hold the female eagle owl. She was massive!

@Ordinata frogmouths are weird - which one is that? Your photo?
I've just got back from a trip to north Queensland where we had a couple of guided walks with a local birder. We saw two families (male, female and one youngster) one each of Papuan and Tawny Frogmouth. They are so confident in their cryptic plumage that you can safely walk within a couple of feet of them. Also saw and head a great Barking Owl on a night spotlighting.
