Regarding Kennaugh... I don't think he expected to be on his own.

Such a long, grim ride. More than a bit kirmesseesque with the rain, cobbles and fried foods.

Great to see Scott Thwaites doing so well.

I think he went too hard. Geraint in his interview said he tried to go with him but was fiddling with bidons and missed the moment. He seemed to amass a minute-plus lead quickly instead of dangling himself out in front of the peloton, inviting the bridge. Instead the peloton were content to let a contender burn himself out. Brave effort though.
