do feel the word spam is regularly mis-used or more widely-assigned that my understanding of its definition..

i suppose such a post is unsolicited, in the sense of being given or supplied without being requested or asked for, but a forum ( "place of assembly", "discussion") would seem to me to involve unsolicited contributions (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
