68 = BB size
P = Pista
120 = what rear dropouts it should be matched to (120mm) -

Thank you for clearing that up.
My second question is, should a record pista hub sit central in the dropouts? Trying to calculate chain line and the clearance between drive side hub flange and dropout is about 10mm greater than the left side flange/dropout.
Everything else looks okay and this spacing would give me a chain line of 43mm. So I guess the difference is taken out in the lacing of the wheel?
Thanks

i believe al single-sided track hubs are not "equal", as in, same distance between nut and flange.
the flange on the ds is more "inward" due to making space for cog + lockring
the flange on the nds is more "outward" due to making a larger angle for the spokes, making the wheelbuild stronger.you'll indeed make up for that in the wheelbuild
Hi
I had a mostly complete Campag BB come with my used pista cranks i scored off ebay and was looking to fit it to my frame.
Campy spindle is stamped 68-P-120 but when i measure the spindle length its 109mm in total.
I'm a little confused and would appreciate any advice as i always thought that 120 meant the total spindle length?
Just to add the old Shimano axle removed from the frame measures 115mm in total length.
Thanks in advance.
Alex
