Rules have changed to allow any track legal, ie pursuit bikes, to go for the athlete's Hour rather than having to do it on a "Merckx" bike.

Forgive me if this is stupid, but couldn't he do it via Guinness world records, bypass the UCI, then kick up a storm when he beats it (if he does beat it) as the Guinness attempt would be valid? Not fair UCI blocking people from what they want to do, but then again if some mega doper had been smashing the growth for the last 10 years then doped up on a load of EPO before the event, it wouldn't be "fair" either. Where's the medium?
