Nobody seems to have noticed this latest round of sabre rattling...... And to think that we had those glorious years between the wall coming down in Berlin and the twin towers coming down in NY when it seemed like peace was breaking out everywhere - now it appears that we are staggering toward the end of days in every sphere. I'm off to get drunk.
What "peace breaking out"? This was a period of incredible failings all over the planet. Just only did millions of people in Europe loose their jobs but hunger also returned all the while we had very bloodly civil wars in Algeria within which between 1991 and 11 Sept around 150,000 people died. The war in Afghanistan, of course, raged. We had the 1st Gulf War.. Somalia, Yemen, Congo,.. Oh and Enitrea and Ethiopia went to war.. And a genocide in Rwanda which brought death is a short period of time in 1994 to 800,000 people. We had fun and games with the Taureg--- see current events in Mali--- and a civil war in Mali.. The break-down of the USSR resulted too in its share of civil wars.. The Ossetia War in Georgia and Chechen are just two of many.. And we had the whole mess with Yugoslavia. And lets not forget that long playing Pakestan and India conflict.. Oh.. forgot.. Liberia.. And the Middle East.. we had the 2nd "Intifada" blazing away before 11 Sept.. I'd say that "war breaking out" was the mantra..
