True, if a deal is bartered then of course, that's down to the parties involved to share at their discretion. If you don't want to share, that's up to you and we all respect that.
The benefit of sharing that information however is that buyers can gauge the market value of similar items in order to know what sensible offers are or what they can afford in their price range etc... and in addition, it prevents people from re-selling later at a profit.
