  • Yeah, not really interested in the debate (because everyone elses opinion is wrong). Just any experiences or pics.

  • a forumer poked this hattifattener on me at the weekend

  • Is that a cheese string?

  • condom with googly eyes

  • I'd like my kids to tattoo me very year on my birthday. Something small to build up over time.

It would look monumentally shit but would have a load meaning...

  • I tattooed Private Patterson with a machine- having never done it before. We were dangerously bored, but it was kind of fun, however I think I was more scared as a tattooer than he was as a tattooee.

I had someone stick and poke me with a needle and biro ink at a party once. Despite him swearing blind that he does successful stick n pokes 'all the time' I don't think he had any idea what he was doing so it went all septic and gross and now I have a large scar.

  • anyone with some fun stick and pokes here?

    awaiting scorn

I've got a couple, one done by a proper artist in a proper studio, one done by a friend in someone's living room after about 10 pints. I much prefer the latter.

  • Can't really get a photo right now without stripping in a really inappropriate place to do so.

  • I follow this thread, but rarely post.

Purely because I don't have any ink and as a result of that I don't think that it's my place to.

But I'm really liking the simplicity of Susanne Honig's stuff.

So much so, I'd probably fly back if I could find something I wanted permanently etched into me.

  • Smashing stuff from Andrea Furci.

    More front stuff. Liam Sparkes.

    Austin Maples.

    Marcus Kuhn.

I know I'm the biggest fanboy of James McKenna, but these hands are rad.

Has this one been posted yet? Phil Hatchet Yau

This one is nice too, also Phil.

Greg Whitehead/Greggletron. This dude has only been tattooing for 3 years.

  • I got this from Andrea yesterday, the picture is not great. Also, walking around with a clingfilmed arm in 30+ degrees sucks.

  • Saw that on his IG. Great work mate, you should be proud of that.

  • Cheers mate, I love it, will be paying him another visit at some point for sure.

  • He's definitely on my list of people to get work from. How was he to work with, if you don't mind me asking? Rough/light touch? Did you shoot ideas back and forth or did he just do exactly like you asked?

  • He was good, easy to talk to and a fairly light touch i'd say, seven doors is a great shop too, very friendly atmosphere. I had asked for a green floating lighthouse so there wasn't much design wise to discuss. He did offer to email me a few designs before my appointment but I told him I would go with whatever he came up with.

  • good post nesbit

Does this mean you are in fact royalty? It's ok, your secret's safe with (all of) us ;)

    Your Cath Kidston blanket, Laner?

  • Ron Henry Wells

  • Sam Clark

  • ^ v nice

  • Here we go again. The Guardian has another excellent (sarcasm) piece out on tattoos. Pretty much the same as last time, the author can't get her head around why people get tattooed because she grew up in the 70's... I'll let that one sink in.

For someone who apparently has a "particular interest" in "contemporary popular culture" she seems quite backwards and out-of-touch. The Guardian really is starting to look more and more like all the other shit rags we call newspapers in this country. Real shame.

  • Well that's, like, her opinion man. Whatever.
    Very boring to read actually.
I'm really surprised this is from thursday and already has almost 3000 comments to be honest.

  • Stop being judgemental, it's really difficult to co-ordinate a tattoo with an ethnic artisan skirt woven by poor people in the third World (retail: £178.99).

  • SO BORING. I too am surprised to see it in the Guardian.
